“Wittig truly captures the essence of the Scots — their deep passion for freedom and justice, love of their homeland and fierce pride — in her remarkable characters and their colorful, historically accurate, highly romantic love story. She’s well on her way to becoming one of the genres finest story tellers.”
Kathe Robin, Romantic Times BOOKClub Magazine
“Laurin Wittig shows once again with Daring the Highlander that she is a powerful force in the Scottish historical genre. Her descriptive imagery will transport readers to the Highlands and the turbulent times when Robert the Bruce tries to unite all of Scotland. Readers will feel the wind on their faces, as they see and smell the winter snow along with the characters.
One can never go wrong with a book by Ms. Wittig.”
4 1/2 Stars from Kelley Hartsell, Love Romances

Hi, Lauren. I just wanted to say how much I thoroughly enjoyed reading your books! I literally just finished reading Daring the Highlander-after reading your other two books-and I had to tell you how much I loved them. You perfectly described medieval Scotland so vividly, it felt like I was right there. A truly superb job. Thank you so much, and I eagerly look forward to your next creation!!

Aimee,
Thank you for leaving me this wonderful comment! I’m so glad you’ve enjoyed my books. I’m hard at work on a new Scottish medieval which I hope to have available before next Christmas.
Happy reading!

Dear Laurin,
I too have become immersed in the lives of the Clan
MacLeod. The stories have such depth I have to remind myself it’s pure fiction. Can’t wait to see if there is a book three.
PS The Devil of Kilmartin was a riveting read as well. I search for more of your work. Fine job…Well done!

Margaret,
I’m struggling through the first draft of a new book, the hardest part of the entire process for me, so your lovely note, along with the others left here recently, are a wonderful reminder that I can get my stories out of my head for other people to enjoy.
Thanks for stopping by!

Dear Laurin,
I was eager for some thing to read, when my wife gave me “Daring the Highlander”, which I read right through, and thoroughly enjoyed it.
If I pick up a book, and do not like the first chapter I stop reading put that book away, and never read it again, but this book kept me enthralled right through, and I loved both the historical part and the out come, truly a lovelly book and story. Thank you.

Ron,
Thank you! And please give your wife my thanks, too! First chapters are hard so it’s particularly nice to know this one hooked you.
Happy reading!

Rebecca,
There are only 3 books available right now, and libraries aren’t likely to have the hard copy versions around anymore since they all originally came out over 5 years ago. I am, however, working on a new Scottish trilogy and am working hard to have the first one available by Christmas in e-format, later in paper format. Stay tuned for more information on availablity of the new book! And thanks so much for searching out my stories!

Laurin,
I have enjoyed your books tremendously (I’ve read them twice already)! I discovered you through my Kindle and now I am obsessed over the McLeods. Who’s next? Is Ailig and Mora ever able to have children? PLEASE continue….we need more Mcleods! I can’t wait to read your new trilogy as I am sure it will be just as wonderful.
Thanks,
Tracie
Ps. I will be taking my 2nd tour of Scotland in May with indept looks at the highlands and western isles…can’t wait!

Tracie,
You have no idea what a big grin I have on my face right now.
I have a couple of ideas for another MacLeod book, but the first book in the Highland Targe series is up next. Not sure yet if I’ll power through those books or intersperse the two series but I can guarantee more Scottish romances are in the pipeline.
And can I just say how jealous I am of your trip to Scotland. I am dying to get back there but can’t squeeze it into the schedule anytime soon.
BTW, I’ve returned to the Argyll part of western Scotland with the new series, so if you get over near Oban and take pictures I’d LOVE to see them.
Thanks for your lovely note. I’m off to work on the book now so I can get more stories out for you!
